Massive weight loss patients often have significant tissue redundancy and laxity requiring additional excisional techniques to remove the excess tissue. The traditional abdominoplasty only eliminates the vertical tissue excess with removal of redundant lower abdominal tissue. Additional removal of the horizontal tissue redundancy and laxity results in a long vertical scar. Dr. leber only performs this additional tissue removal when the results are worth the presence of the additional vertical scar.
